Frances Melton, age 92, of McKinney, Texas, passed away on April 24, 2015.  She was born on August 2, 1922 in Allen, Texas to Grover Cleveland and Luddie Lee (Downs) Mathews.  On October 7, 1944, Frances married Killis Wayne Melton.  She was an avid bridge player and golfer, and a member of First Christian Church of McKinney.

Harold Carson, 84, a retired pharmacist, died Tuesday, April 21, 2015. Mr. Carson grew up in Corsicana, Texas, lived many years in Lewisville and was residing in N. Richland Hills at the time of his death. He served honorably in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. Mr. Carson attended Navarro College and the University of Houston where he received his pharmacy degree and later opened Carson’s Pharmacy on Main Street in Lewisville.

Doris “Dorsey” McNeill of McKinney, Texas passed away April 20, 2015 at the age of 76.  She was born July 10, 1938 to Earl “Jelly” Stirling and Nona Merle (Nixon) Patterson in McKinney, Texas.  Dorsey grew up in McKinney and was a 1956 graduate of McKinney High School.  She later attended Weatherford College.  Dorsey married Cary Wayne McNeill on August 30, 1957 in Oceanside, California.  Her hobbies included sewing, crafts, and baking (especially pies).  She was a lifelong member of North Baptist Church in McKinney where she sang in her beautiful alto voice (to the delight of her father) not only in the choir, but also in solos and duets with her sister Barbara.

Tom Templeman, age 97, of Princeton, Texas, passed away April 18, 2015, in Farmersville, Texas.  Tom was born August 9, 1917, in Princeton, Texas, to Oscar and Maude (Cardwell) Templeman.    Tom proudly served in the United States Army during World War II.  He married Ethel Millsap on October 3, 1941, in Durant, Oklahoma.   Tom and his wife began farming in the Princeton community for more than fifty years raising chinchillas, mink, and cattle.  Tom was a barber for thirty-three years and was the owner of Northside Barber Shop in McKinney retiring in 2005.

Kent Paluga was born in Kansas City, Missouri on May 2, 1953. He married Linda in 1974 and had four daughters. After coming to Texas he entered the Department of Public Safety Academy in 1975. Where he was a state trooper until he retired in 2003 and went back to work for the state. Kent worked for the state for 40 years and dedicated his life to the pursuit of justice. His children and grandchildren meant the world to him. Known as grandpa and pops he teased and played with the grandkids which made him happiest.

Travis Allen Langford, age 74 of Richardson, Texas passed away April 6, 2015 in Richardson, Texas. He was born November 9, 1940 in Baytown, Texas to Travis Culberson and Emma (DeLawder) Langford. Travis was a graduate of Texas Tech University. He married Marilyn “Joyce” Langford May 14, 1966 in Wathena, Kansas. Travis proudly served as a Captain in the United States Army and was a member of M.O.W.W. – The Military Order of The World Wars. He volunteered at Network of Community Ministries in Richardson, Texas and was a proud member of the NRA. Travis was active in his church, First United Methodist Church of Plano. He loved hunting and spent a lot of time at the Langford Hunting Camp, his property in East Texas. Most of all he loved spending time with his family.

Gladys Christine Kellam Tomlinson, age 63, of Lewisville, Texas passed away on Friday, April 3, 2015 in Lewisville, Texas. She was born June 8, 1951 in Dallas, Texas to Tom and Helen Kellam. She worked at Mostek in Carrollton, and various other positions before starting her career with LISD. She worked with special needs children and was known as Ms. Gladys by all the children she took care of. Gladys (known as “Sisie” by family and close friends) enjoyed cooking, sewing, arts and crafts and she loved to dance.

Emilio Francisco “Frankie” Link of Wylie, Texas passed away April 1, 2015 at the age 24. He was born November 4, 1990 to Todd Link and Cassandra (Adams) Link in Dallas, Texas.   Frankie was a 2009 graduate of Plano East High School. He loved fixing things. His friends would call him to help fix their cars and motorcycles. Frankie recently worked for Southern Painting. He was passionate about riding motorcycles and being with his friends. Frankie was an amazing friend and person. He was friendly and kind to everyone. Frankie loved his mom very much and adored his dad, both who instilled values that made him the great young man he was.

Sherry Ann Roulette, age 71, of Allen, Texas, passed away April 1, 2015.  Sherry was born July 10, 1943, in Akron, Ohio, to Hugh Otis and Ann Kate (Powers) Godfrey.  She grew up in Akron where she attended schools and graduated from Akron South High School in 1961.  Sherry married Roger Huston Roulette on February 9, 1961, in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania.  She moved to Texas City, Texas in 1978.  Sherry moved to Allen, Texas in 2003 after Roger retired.  She enjoyed traveling.

Tommy Lee Potter, age 76 of McKinney, Texas passed away April 1, 2015 in Murphy, Texas. He was born in 1939 in McKinney, Texas to LeRoy Wesley and Lucille Frances (Morris) Potter. Tommy grew up in McKinney where he attended South Ward and McKinney High School where he was a star athlete in football. Tommy married Pauline Bridges May 3, 1957 in Durant, Oklahoma. He enjoyed farming and ranching in his early years. Tommy owned and operated Potter’s Grocery Store in McKinney for over thirty years and was a prominent real estate investor.

Lucille Vinson Baldwin passed away on Monday, March 30, 2015, at the age of 103 in McKinney, TX.  She was born on Tuesday, August 8, 1911, in Parker, TX, to Robert Lee Vinson and Madge Edens Vinson.  She attended school in Parker until high school, graduating from Plano High School in 1928.  Lucille participated in class plays, played basketball, and was a cheerleader.  She attended Kidd Key College in Sherman.  Early in her life, she attended Corinth Presbyterian Church in Parker where she played the piano and sang solos.  Lucille married Corley C. King on April 13, 1943.  She began working for the Permian Oil Company in Midland, TX in 1956 and transferred to Houston in 1971 with Occidental Petroleum Company.  Lucille retired a couple of months before her 75th birthday in 1985, from Occidental after nearly 30 years with the company.  After retirement, she volunteered for 13 years at the Duncanville and McKinney public libraries.  Lucille enjoyed reading the newspaper and working crossword puzzles.  She was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys throughout her life.

Dr. James Vernon Stephens, Jr., passed away peacefully at 10:05 AM on Thursday, March 26, 2015 at the age of 76. He was born in Lovelady, Texas on September 10, 1938 to James Vernon Stephens, Sr. and Delorece Wills. Dr. Stephens was known affectionately to friends and family as “Doc”. He graduated from Milby High School in Houston, Texas, earned a Pre-Dental Degree from the University of Texas at Austin, and a Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from Baylor College of Dentistry in 1966. He also served as a Captain in the United States Air Force from 1966 to 1968. After his service in the Air Force, he and his family eventually settled in Plano, Texas, where he had a thriving practice for 34 years. Dr. Stephens was a member of the American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, Dallas County Dental Association, and he was a Fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry. While attending The University of Texas, he met and married his wife, Carla Van Baxter Stephens, and they remained in a loving marriage for 53 years. He was a devoted husband, loving father, and dedicated professional, who also taught in the field of dentistry for brief periods. In his spare time, he loved to hunt and fish, and later in life became a talented woodworker. Throughout his life he was a genuine and compassionate man who enjoyed his family and doted on his grandchildren.

James Franklin Hudson, age 93, of McKinney, Texas, passed away on March 24, 2015.  He was born on March 5, 1922 in Wadesboro, Virginia to Henry Tyler and French LaRue (Dixon) Hudson.  On June 20, 1947, James married Mary Margaret Macklin on the shores of Lake Tahoe, Nevada.  He was a commercial pilot for 41 years and a member of the Braniff International Silver Eagles.  James flew for the Air Transport Command during World War II.

Eddie Wayne Beaver, age 68, of Anna, Texas, passed away March 21, 2015, in Plano, Texas.  Eddie was born July 28, 1946, in Wichita Falls, Texas, to Homer Wilson and Tellie Edith (Jacobs) Beaver.  He graduated from John Marshall High School in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma in 1964.  Eddie held four records in track and field in distance running during high school.  He proudly served in the United States Navy.  Eddie was a pilot and mechanic for Skydive Dallas.  He was known for his nickname “Road Runner”.  Eddie was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Jason O’Brien grew up in Plano, Texas and moved to Austin in 2009. He married his high school sweetheart and best friend Krissy Ridgley on July 6, 1997. As a young man he played soccer and was part of the Plano Senior High School band. Being an avid outdoorsman, Jason enjoyed hunting and fishing. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps. He spent most of his career in the food services industry, working for and managing some of the most respected restaurants in the industry.
