The 2014-15 NBA schedule was unveiled Wednesday evening, meaning Dallas-area basketball fans now know the layout for the Dallas Mavericks' upcoming season.
It also means high school hoops fans now know the first chances they'll get to see Flower Mound Marcus alum Marcus Smart and Prestonwood Christian Academy alum Julius Randle in action during their inaugural NBA campaigns.
Fans won't have to wait long to see the two-time state champion Marauder on home soil, with Smart and the Boston Celtics scheduled to play the Mavericks at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 3 at the American Airlines Center in just Dallas' fourth game of the season.
The outing will mark Smart's lone regular-season trip to the Metroplex, whereas Randle and the Los Angeles Lakers have two swings through the AAC on the docket this season. Randle's first NBA game back home will take place at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 21, followed by a return trip to face the Mavericks at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 26.
Both Smart and Randle were lottery picks in the 2014 NBA draft, selected back-to-back with the Celtics tabbing Smart at No. 6 overall, followed by Los Angeles selecting Randle seventh.
