What does your business offer that is unique compared to similar businesses?
We’re about the best ingredients: premium meats and cheeses sliced on the spot, certified Angus beef slow roasted in-store, perfectly ripe tomatoes, hand-shredded lettuce, fresh-baked bread and fresh-grilled cheese steaks. Try our signature Mike’s Way.
What is the most important part of your job on a daily basis?
Meeting the needs of our customers is the most important part of my day, and that takes many forms: making and serving superior sub sandwiches; reaching out to our community and making an impact; and teaching my staff to deliver the fantastic hospitality for which we are known.
What are your keys to success?
I think the keys to our success are to deliver on promises, develop our team to be the best it can be and to always make a fun and delicious sub experience for our customers. When we ask, “How can we help you?” we mean it.
What surprises you most about your job?
The best surprise is how quickly you get to know the customers and how often they come in once you engage them in a conversation.
Tell us something most people wouldn’t know about your company.
Jersey Mike’s founder and CEO Peter Cancro started the company when he was just 17 years old, not even old enough to legally use the meat slicer. He’s still one of the fastest slicers out there.
