Industry: Frozen Treats
Bob and Debbie Conover
Co-owners, Twizzles LLC
Twizzles celebrated its grand opening Wednesday as a place where customers can unplug for awhile and come enjoy the experience of face-to-face interaction over frozen delicacies like gelato, frozen yogurt, Italian ice and old-fashioned ice cream. If that doesn’t pique your interest, maybe the digital graffiti wall will.
Business address: 1328 W. McDermott Drive, #260, Allen

What does your business offer that is unique compared to similar businesses?
We describe our business as a “social experience” where friends and families gather to enjoy their favorite frozen treat (gelato, frozen yogurt, Italian ice, sorbet and ice cream), freshly brewed coffee, snacks, and to play on the Digital Graffiti Wall.
What is the most important part of your job on a daily basis?
Making sure our customers leave here with a smile – either because they enjoyed the treats, or because the atmosphere (Digital Graffiti Wall and professionally painted murals) just makes you want to smile.
What are your keys to success?
Bob and I each enjoyed a 30-year career in the IT industry with EDS/HP focusing on sales, marketing, and operations, and then retired. Bob is more of a golf enthusiast, while I am starting my encore career.
What surprises you most about your job?
It’s a lot of hard work, but my spirits are lifted every time I hear the laughter and giggles emanating from customers using the Digital Graffiti Wall. I am also amazed at how quickly my staff has learned and embraced all this new technology.
Tell us something most people wouldn’t know about your company.
Twizzles was first envisioned in 2012. The name Twizzles was inspired by the 2012 Winter Olympics. When ice dancers perform their side-by-side Twizzles, it reminds me of a soft serve ice cream swirl – or Twizzle.
