In an effort to teach young women the skills they would need to defend themselves in a threatening situation, RockStar Martial Arts & Fitness is hosting “You Have The Right To Fight,” a self-defense awareness event in wake of the disappearance of Christina Morris.
The event will take place from 7-9 p.m. on May 8 at RockStar Martial Arts & Fitness, 5000 Eldorado Pkwy Suite 420 in Frisco. It will be facilitated by professional instructors with the support of the Plano Police Department. It is asked that those interested make a donation of at least $30 to the Christina Morris Donation Fund to register and take part in the event.
There are only 15 spots still available for the class, so those interested in participating are encouraged to register as soon as possible.
In addition to other special guests, Morris' mother, Jonni McElroy, will be present and supporting the event. All proceeds will go to the Christina Morris Donation Fund, which provides financial assistance to the Morris family during their effort to find answers regarding Morris' disappearance. Police are still looking for the 23-year-old Allen native, who was last seen walking into a parking garage at The Shops at Legacy in Plano on Aug. 30.
