Dontarious Scott of McKinney was sentenced last week to 45 years in prison for sexually abusing at least seven victims from 10 to 13 years old.
The 23-year-old scooter and BMX rider took advantage of his skills at skate parks in Allen, Frisco and McKinney to get close to younger children he met.
"This deceitful monster targeted these innocent kids and deserves every single year of this sentence," Collin County District Attorney Greg Willis said after sentencing.
According to the DA’s office, Scott also lied to the kids and their parents that he was several years younger than he was.
Scott was arrested on Jan. 9 on charges of criminal trespass and was charged after police investigation led to the sexual abuse.
His use of Instagram and Snapchat to communicate with his victims was discovered by one of the victim's parents who found sexually suggestive messages on their child's phone. Allen Police Detective Carolyn Crawford investigated the case early this year after the parent reported the messages to law enforcement.
The children were forensically interviewed at the Children's Advocacy Center of Collin County, where they disclosed details about the ongoing abuse, the DA’s office said.
Scott pleaded guilty to continuous sexual abuse of a child, and Judge Richard D. Davis assessed punishment at 45 years in prison. By law, a sentence for continuous sexual abuse of a child is without eligibility for parole.
