USPS officials said they are continuing to investigate the mercury spill that occurred at its North Texas Distribution and Processing Center in Coppell.
On Aug. 7, USPS reported that a mercury spill from a mailed package suspended operations at the center. Mail was rerouted to other nearby processing centers in the Dallas/Fort Worth area as a result.
Mail operations have resumed at that processing center as of Monday but officials said they are unsure when customers will begin to receive mail again. No more additional information can released be at this time, USPS spokesman Albert Ruiz said.
