What does your business offer that is unique compared to similar businesses?

Dedication to senior adults. Everything about ActiveRx is dedicated to our senior adult patients and members experience.  Our location, décor, care, supervision, expert staff and even our music is intentional to make our customers feel better physically and emotionally.

What is the most important part of your job on a daily basis?

Laughter and encouragement are still the most effective forms of medicine.  I am not a clinician, but I love to be engaged with our patients and members.

What are your keys to success?

Our first key is having a team of experts that truly love working with and caring for senior adults.

The second key, without question, is great outcomes. Our patients/members have less pain, gain strength and feel better.  If they are not seeing results, there is no reason to put in the work.

The final key is our continuous communication with our physician partners.  Our physicians love to see their patients exercising and taking better care of themselves.  Healthy/active people require fewer medications, require fewer doctor visits and have fewer hospitalizations.

What surprises you most about your job?

How much I can learn from our patients.  Our patients, part of “The Greatest Generation,” are full of wisdom and experiences.  I treasure the relationships I have developed with our patients/members/friends over the last 3-plus years.

Tell us something most people wouldn’t know about your company.

We are not just a physical therapy center.  While it is true that many of our clients come to us with a doctor’s order (prescription) because they have very specific needs that require skilled clinical care, the fact is that all senior adults need consistent, supervised exercise and specifically strength training. There is a gym on almost every corner in our area, but we remain the only facility dedicated to providing a system just for seniors.
