Carrollton's Interim Police Chief Rex Redden said 43% of crimes committed in the Marsh and Kelley have been property crimes. 

Residents, elected officials and law enforcement of Carrollton and Dallas gathered at Long Middle School Thursday night to discuss public safety on the border between both cities.

Chief among the topics discussed was the lack of safety and enforcement on Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) trains. With DART police staff down 40% and an honor system in its ticketing system, Dallas City Council Member Cara Mendelsohn deemed the transit company the “least examined government entity in North Texas.”
