Carrollton police are looking for a woman who stole an elderly man’s portable oxygen concentrator on April 25.

According to police, the suspect is seen on surveillance video burglarizing a vehicle around 1:20 p.m. at the Valero gas station at North Josey Lane and Keller Springs Road.

When the victim went inside the gas station, the suspect approached his vehicle and took his oxygen concentrator along with his iPhone. She approaches the vehicle several times before finally leaving the scene.

“It’s brazen, it’s heartless, and it happened in broad daylight,” said Jolene DeVito, spokesperson for the Carrollton Police Department. “This woman was obviously thinking only of herself and what was best for her.”

Police describe the woman as a white or Hispanic female with blonde hair. She was driving an older model white Toyota Camry with possible front quarter panel damage.

DeVito said the victim is doing fine, and neighbors pitched in to help him get the oxygen device he needs. Police do have some leads on the suspect’s location, she said.

In light of the situation, police are reminding residents of Lock, Take and Hide.

“Anytime you can, take your property with you and lock your car,” DeVito said.
