Hebron High School teacher Larry Eugene Hardin was arrested on Dec. 23 by the Carrollton Police Department.
Carrollton Police Media Specialist Jolene DeVito said on Monday that Hardin faces federal charges of enticing a minor and transporting child pornography.
DeVito said federal agents took custody of Hardin, 61, on Dec. 28. Hardin was arrested at his Carrollton home.
Amanda Brim, executive director of communications for the Lewisville ISD, said Hardin began working at the LISD in 2010 and worked as a math teacher at Hebron High School.
Brim confirmed Hardin has been placed on administrative leave.
If convicted, Hardin faces 10 years to life in prison.
"Our investigation was triggered by a law enforcement tip and we did not find evidence of local victims through the course of this investigation," DeVito said.
She added the Carrollton Police Department is working with the Lewisville ISD through the investigation.
