Women’s self-defense class offered 

The Coppell Police department is offering high school women's self-defense classes for all class of 2022 graduates from 8 a.m. to noon on July 9 and 16 at Life Safety Park.  

This will be an eight-hour class that will be held in two four-hour sessions. Participants must attend both sessions in order to get their certificate.

Student earns $1,000 scholarship for art 

A cyanotype created by Coppell High School junior Shraavya Pydisetti won “Best in Show” in the 2022 SPARK! art competition. Her piece will be on display at Dallas Love Airport in the public area by the terminals through September 2022. Pydisetti also has received a $1,000 scholarship for this achievement. 


Porch competition returns 

Red, White and Views is back. In addition to Celebrate Coppell: Party in the Park and Parade Down Parkway, the city of Coppell will be encouraging residents and businesses in the community to celebrate by decorating their front porches, lawns or business windows. The theme is Independence Day. Residents can visit coppelltx.gov/980/Red-White-and-Views to register as a participant. Submissions will be accepted until June 26.
