Amisha and Sanjiv Sinha, of Allen, are opening a College Nannies + Tutors center -- the first in the Dallas/Fort Worth area -- next month at 4350 W. Main St. in Frisco.
The center will open with an open house from 3 to 6 p.m. Feb. 6. Purvi Ajmera, dean of Yorktown Education, will speak at 4 p.m. on “Roadmap to Student Driven Learning” and attendees will get to meet some of the nannies and tutors, enter to win babysitting or tutoring sessions, and sign up for a student to take a complimentary practice SAT test.
The Sinhas also plan to open a center in Allen or McKinney later this year.
They have been operational since July, providing nanny and tutoring services to families in Frisco, McKinney, Allen and Plano.
Amisha Sinha said they got involved with College Nannies + Tutors after seeing first-hand the challenges of finding high-quality after-school and summer nannies for their two daughters, now 12 and 14.
“We feel for the families because we have been there ourselves," she said. "We know how important it is to find childcare you can trust and be assured the caregiver is the right fit for your own family’s lifestyle and children’s personalities.
“We interview and vet our nannies and baby sitters, as well as the families, to insure it’s a good match.”
Tutoring will take place at the new center, offering sound- canceling amenities, and private study areas.
“All of our tutors must demonstrate excellence in the subject they tutor- that means they were at the top of their calculus classes, if they are tutoring calculus,” she said.
Tutoring is entirely separate from the nanny and babysitting services, but many families use both.
Those seeking tutoring often want to improve in a certain subject or to prepare for SAT and ACT tests, she said.
