It was an enchanted evening as members of the community gathered to raise money for a good cause at the 2022 Collin County Boys & Girls Club Chrysalis Ball Saturday night at the Frisco Convention Center.
The official amount raised from the silent and live auction event, and other donations, has not been released yet, but the money raised from the gala will fund the first six months of club programs in 2023.Â
The highlight was a live auction item featuring a once-in-a-lifetime experience of having dinner with Andrea Bocelli.
Organizers stated they were "humbled by the generosity of donors and corporate partners. There is no power for change greater than a community discovering what it cares about. Funds raised from this premiere event allows BGCCC to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens."
Dr. Jennifer Buchanan and Encore Wire Corporation both were recognized as Great Texan Award 2022 winners. Maya Burns, Youth of the Year for 2022, also thanked those in attendance for support the clubs' mission.Â
