Collin College Best Brightest

Gov. Greg Abbott, alongside Collin College and local officials, announces the state's 60X30 higher-education plan on the college's McKinney campus. The community college, which expands in step with Collin County's growth, was named one of the "Best and Brightest Companies to Work For" by a national business association.

The National Association for Business Resources named Collin College one of Dallas/Fort Worth’s “Best and Brightest Companies to Work For” for 2017.

The “Best and Brightest” honor recognizes organizations that use innovative strategies and represent best practices in a variety of human resource measures.

In a random and anonymous survey of its employees, Collin College received high marks in community initiatives, employee education and development, diversity and inclusion, and communication and shared vision, according to college officials.

“Collin College strives to foster a positive, productive work environment conducive to achieving our vision of ‘Delivering a brighter future for our students and communities,’” Collin College District President Neil Matkin stated in a release. “The college appreciates this recognition of its efforts and will continue to implement employee programs and services that advance the college as one of the area’s best organizations to work for.”

Jennifer Kluge, president and CEO of National Association for Business Resources, noted that companies that see their employees as the keys to their success achieve staying power.

“Our 2017 winners create their human resource standards to ensure employee satisfaction and they set standards for every business to aspire toward,” Kluge stated in the release. “We are proud to honor this year’s winners.”

The “Best and Brightest Companies to Work For” is a national program with annual symposium and award galas presented in Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Detroit, Grand Rapids, Houston, Milwaukee, San Diego and San Francisco. Collin College will be honored alongside other winners at a gala Jan. 23 at the Dallas Arboretum.

Collin College has main campuses are in Frisco, McKinney and Plano, with another major campus planned for Wylie and a smaller center to be built in Celina in coming years.
