The Frisco Police Department continues to investigate what led to the death of a child, identified as 6-year-old Frisco resident Tejas Pachika.
The child’s mother, 41-year-old Frisco resident Vasavi Vaka, who had been previously hospitalized as a result of the incident, died on April 5.
On March 23, at around 5:55 p.m., Frisco 911 received a call regarding a welfare concern in the 15200 block of Preachers Lane.
Officers with the Frisco police and fire departments responded and located Tejas and Vaka in a parked vehicle. Tejas was pronounced deceased on scene, and Vaka was transported to a local hospital where she remained hospitalized until her death.
The focus of the investigation continues to be that this is a homicide/suicide, though a final autopsy report has not been completed. The investigation remains active and ongoing.
