Lebanon Trail (10-2-0, 30 points) secured the first district championship in program history on Friday as it posted a 1-0 win over Liberty (6-4-2, 20).
It was a defensive affair for most of the night, but Mallory Bennett got loose and converted for the lone goal of the night and that would be the difference at the end.
Independence (9-1-2, 29) notched a huge 1-0 win over Memorial (8-2-2, 26) in the battle for the second seed in the playoffs.
In another match that went down to the wire, Charlie Harris scored off an assist from Camdyn Wood, and keeper Sydney Bruner and the Knights defense made sure it would stand up until the end.
Heritage (1-10-1, 4) might be out of the playoff race, but it closed its season on a high note with a 3-0 shutout of Emerson (0-9-3, 3) to earn its first district victory.
Mika McKenna recorded two goals and assisted on a score from Isabel Weaver.
Mavericks keeper Lauren Short did all she could in net to give her team a chance, recording seven saves.
Though the teams for the playoffs were set, the 10-5A season officially concluded on Monday with the final round of matches.
Emerson got a goal from Brynn Groves, with an assist from Becca Rovner, but it was not quite enough, as Independence wrapped up the second seed with a 2-1 victory.
That proved to be important, as Memorial topped district champion Lebanon Trail, 2-0, and would have a chance to force a tie for second with a Knights loss.
The Redhawks already knew they would be the fourth seed and they will head into the playoffs on a high note after defeating Centennial (2-8-2, 8).
