Reedy returned to the playoffs for the fourth consecutive season, but it felt like it had unfinished business after getting knocked out in the bi-district round in its last two trips.
The Lions bucked that trend last weekend with a series win and followed that up with a sweep of Woodrow Wilson to advance to the regional quarterfinals for the first time since 2019.
Reedy had little problems with Woodrow Wilson, claiming a 11-1 victory in the opener on Thursday at Plano Senior High School.
The Lions then seized their opportunity to close it out in two with a 16-1 victory on Friday.
Campbell McKee tripled, Makayla Cox had a pair of doubles and Caitlyn Warren also had a two-bagger.
The series was also notable as Reedy saw a trio of single-season records get rewritten.
Megan Lau set the new mark for runs with 51 in the opener and then reached 41 singles in the finale to set a new record there.
Cox also returned to the Reedy record books, as her victory on the mound on Friday was her 24th of the season, setting a new standard for the future.
