There's no shortage of noteworthy performances turned in by student-athletes around the area. Each week, Star Local Media's sports staff will recognize five student-athletes from their respective coverage areas as part of its 5-Star Spotlight.
Here are a few athletes from sports reporter Devin Hasson's Frisco coverage area who have turned in standout moments over the past week.

Brynn Lusby, Panther Creek girls basketball
The Panthers are in uncharted waters in their inaugural varsity campaign, but Lusby brings experience, having transferred after being a member of Memorial’s state runner-up team last season.
She turned in another big effort last Friday, scoring 17 points in a 48-28 victory over Aubrey.
2
Santana Arroyo, Independence boys basketball
The Knights continued their strong start to the 10-5A season and are firmly in the top half of the district standings.
Arroyo tallied 19 points in a key 65-57 victory over Memorial last Tuesday and followed that up with a 17-point effort against Centennial.
3
Mylee Guinn, Frisco girls basketball
Fresh off her district newcomer of the year season a year ago, Guinn continues to elevate her game for the Raccoons.
She scored 16 points in a 56-28 win against Carrollton Creekview and then did all she could with a game-high 28 points in a hard-fought game against The Colony.
