Students and faculty throughout Lake Dallas ISD are spending their Friday showing their appreciation for local law enforcement.
The district announced earlier this week that they were celebrating “Red, White and Back the Blue Day.” The day started with students, faculty and staff members wearing blue at all LDISD campuses. The district then welcomed officers at each elementary school and served them lunch. Corinth police officers were served lunch at Shady Shores Elementary, Hickory Creek police were served lunch at Hickory Creek Elementary and Lake Dallas police were served lunch at Lake Dallas Elementary.
While at the schools, officers ate with students and spent time with them. Corinth police officers were seen dancing along with students to the “Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae)” song at Shady Shores Elementary.
Lake Dallas Middle School and Lake Dallas High School then held a celebration called “SRO Day” where they honored their school resource officers on their campuses.
Both police and fire departments were recognized at a pep rally at Lake Dallas High School at 2:45 p.m. Tonight, the Lake Dallas Quarterback Club will host a tailgate party at 5:30 p.m. where they will recognize and serve dinner to police and firefighters. The police and fire department personnel will then receive a complimentary entry to tonight’s Lake Dallas High School Falcons football game against Lucas Lovejoy at Falcon Stadium. Kickoff will be at 7:30 p.m.
