North Central Texas College will be hosting a series of meet and greet events to attract prospective students to their new First State Bank Exchange (FSB Exchange) campus located in downtown Denton.

The series of meet and greet events will be held at Harvest House in Denton on June 20 and July 10.

These casual get-togethers will enable new students and those considering enrollment to meet NCTC faculty and staff, many of whom will be located at the new FSB Exchange campus beginning this August. The event is free and attendees will have the chance to win a $500 scholarship at each event.

“It’s a chance to have questions answered and get a head start on what’s going to be a great adventure in downtown this fall,” said O. John Maduko, NCTC vice chancellor of student affairs. “We have some amazing people teaching, staffing and assisting students every day. They’re eager to answer questions and share the energy surrounding this new campus.”

This new Denton campus is located at 314 East Hickory St. and is already taking enrollment for the fall 2019 academic school year. The Exchange will have transfer and dual credit offerings, core classes, and a wide range of associate degree pathways. Students who attend the University of North Texas or Texas Woman’s University are encouraged to enroll as they can take courses concurrently with the ones at their university.

The 45,214-square-foot building will house six classrooms, three large lecture rooms, a testing center and conference room. The four-story parking garage will have designated parking for students, faculty, and staff. State-of-the-art technology will allow faculty to deliver an exceptional learning experience and creative working space. The building is surrounded by restaurants, cafes, and retail shops, so students will not have to travel far to take in all that downtown has to offer.

“It’s not the first time we’ve built something big for NCTC,” said Brent Wallace, NCTC chancellor, “but it is one of our more exciting projects, and the anticipation of being here in downtown Denton is great among students, faculty, businesses and the city leadership.”

Each event will be two hours and will begin at 5:00 pm at Harvest House. There will be free food, giveaways, and the chance to win a $500 scholarship. Guests are encouraged to register online at exchangedenton.com/REGISTER.
