Kelly Pickens defeated incumbent Don Glockel on Saturday in the race for Place 5 on the Corinth City Council.

Pickens secured 53.5 percent of the votes (293 votes) to Glockel's 46.5 percent (255 votes).

Glockel has served on the council for two terms.

Glockel took a small lead over Pickens heading into Saturday following early voting as he had secured 50.8 percent of the votes (185) to Pickens' 49.2 percent (179).

Corinth voters also approved the Crime Control and Prevention District Proposition with 76.6 percent of the votes (428).

In Lake Dallas ISD, incumbent Courtney Tankersley finished with 57.3 percent of the votes (421) to beat Jesse Wenger (42.7 percent, 314 votes) for Place 7 with four of seven precincts reporting.

Also in LDISD, 67.6 percent of the voters have shown support for the $105 million bond package.
