The Lake Dallas track and field teams returned to Texan Stadium in Justin for the second time this postseason, where hopes of advancing to the Region I-5A meet were on the line.
After it was all said and done, the Falcons had four student-athletes place in the top four of their respective events, earning each of them a regional meet berth.
Junior Dawson Marrs is a regional qualifier in four events. At Thursday's area 5-5A/6-5A meet, she placed third in the 200-meter girls dash (26.06), and fourth in both the 400 (1:00.61) and triple jump (35-1.25).
Sophomore Keonde Henry was crowned area champion in the 400-meter boys dash, posting a winning time of 49.57 seconds.
Junior Trey Buss ran to silver in the 300 hurdles (41.23), while junior Zach Tipps is bound for regionals in the 110 hurdles after placing second (15.43).
The Region I-5A meet is set for April 29-30 at PlainsCapital Park/Lowrey Field in Lubbock.Â
