Children’s Lighthouse Learning Centers, an early-education childcare provider, will open its new location in Lewisville.
A grand opening event will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 13 at the center, 2200 S. Valley Parkway.
The Children’s Lighthouse Learning Center will span 10,500 square feet, and will provide ample space for children to learn in classroom and group settings, while also offering sizeable play areas both inside and out. An on-site kitchen offers freshly prepared, healthy meals daily for students. Children’s Lighthouse serves families with children just a few months old to 12 years old. In addition to childcare during traditional school hours, highly interactive after-school programs and summer-camps are available to children.
Mark and Dana Westmoreland will run the Lewisville location. Dana brings regional marketing experience from both the financial services and healthcare industries to the endeavor, as well as early childhood education experience from her time as a chapel teacher at the learning center their children attended. Mark has more than 30 years of experience in the financial services industry where he hired and managed investment advisors, managed assets for high net worth clients, and served as a regional sales director in the South Central U.S.
Dana will oversee the learning center and serve as a relationship manager for the parents and families of enrollees. She will also serve as a community liaison. She will hire a director, an assistant director and an administrative assistant to facilitate education and oversee daily operations.
Children’s Lighthouse Learning Centers have online video links to rooms, computerized building entry, security monitoring and transportation to and from area elementary schools.
Educational childcare professionals guide the company’s operations using the Lighthouse C.A.R.E.S curriculum. The integrated learning strategies focus on students’ intellectual development, social and emotional growth, active learning through hands-on lessons and embedded content that emphasizes the fundamental basics of phonics, reading, math, science and social studies.
