“I would not have been afforded this opportunity without Coach Brazil, Principal Finch and Hawk Nation bringing me back into the district, and I’m so appreciative of everything my players gave me and their hard work. I will miss this great community.”
Lewisville ISD announced Monday the hiring of Michael Odle as Lewisville High School’s new football head coach, athletic coordinator. Odle joins Lewisville from Hebron High School where he served as offensive coordinator. A graduate of Lewisville, the Farmer community may recognize Odle’s name from the 1996 Class 5A state championship team, where Odle led the Fighting Farmers to a perfect season as quarterback.
“Lewisville is a special place and community,” Odle said. “It’s a place that gave me so much as a kid, and it’s my turn to give back. I’m overwhelmingly excited to come home and impact these student-athletes’ lives like mine was as a Farmer. I bleed maroon and white, and I’m happy to be home with the Farmer community.
In his seven years as an offensive coordinator, Odle has seen 55 wins and three district championships at the Class 5A and 6A levels. Odle has coached six all-district quarterbacks and two district MVPs.
“We’re excited Coach Odle has returned home to lead the Fighting Farmers,” Lewisville Principal Jeffrey Kajs said. “Being a product of Lewisville High School, I believe every student can and will relate to coach Odle. His understanding of Farmer Pride and the tremendous traditions will be a huge advantage for all of LHS and Farmer athletics. In addition to his leadership, he brings an excitement and passion to Farmer football that Lewisville deserves.”
Odle is expected to join Lewisville this week. He takes over the program from Gregg Miller, who resigned in March.
“Coach Odle’s many years of coaching within the district will continue on to Lewisville High School, his alma mater,” LISD Athletic Director Tim Ford said. “His offensive expertise will be a welcomed addition to the Farmer football team. He’s a winner in every sense of the word and the Farmer community is happy to have him home.”
Prior to joining Hebron as offensive coordinator in 2015, Odle served as offensive coordinator at Coppell High School in Coppell ISD (2012-2015) and assistant head coach/offensive coordinator at Barbers Hill High School in Barbers Hill ISD (2010-2011). Odle began his high school coaching career as an assistant at Marcus High School (2004-2009).
Odle graduated from the University of North Texas with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. He holds a teaching certification in all-level physical education, health and speech.
Odle resides in Highland Village with his wife, Carli, and their two children Kinley and Hudson.
