Mary Randall, executive director of personnel services, has been named to succeed Lanny Frasier as the Mesquite ISD assistant superintendent of personnel. Frasier, the namesake of MISD’s ninth middle school underway near West Mesquite High School, plans to retire at the end of this school year with 42 years of service.
Randall has spent 25 of her 37 years in education with Mesquite ISD. She served in her native Arkansas, and then four years at Skyline High School with Dallas ISD before joining the staff at North Mesquite High School as a chemistry teacher in 1993. In 2001, she was named as a director in personnel services, where she has served for 17 years. She received her undergraduate degree from Henderson State University and master’s from Texas A&M-Commerce.
“I am deeply honored and humbled and excited to learn and grow in my new role,” she said, adding it will be an easy transition for her. “I’ve had an extraordinary supervisor and mentor in Lanny Frasier. My desire has always been to make a difference in our district and in the Mesquite community.”
In her new role, Randall will also be joining Superintendent Dr. David Vroonland’s cabinet.
