Mesquite Citizen's Police Academy received highest award

The Mesquite Citizen’s Police Academy Alumni Association (MCPAAA) attended the 2019 Texas State Citizen’s Alumni Associations conference in San Marcos and received the highest award for 2019- Alumni Membership of the Year. Mesquite MCPAAA President Barbara Dunn, received the Member of the Year Award.

The Mesquite Citizen’s Police Academy Alumni Association is made up of graduates of the Mesquite Citizen’s Police Academy.

They provide the Mesquite Police Department with support in various areas such as the Sky Watch Program, License Plate Reader Program – Explorer, Neighborhood Deployments – Chargers, community fingerprinting for children and elderly, MPD citizen fingerprinting, school health fair fingerprinting, National Night Out events, citizen coach deployments, the Fatal Vision Program, and more.

The mission of the Texas Citizen Police Academy Alumni Association is to assist and educate the various Citizen Police Academy Alumni Associations within the State of Texas to better serve their communities by more effectively partnering with and supporting the law enforcement agencies in their area.
