Mesquite sailor serves in the South China Sea

Ensign Jason Causey, of Mesquite, logs the change of course on a speed board on the bridge wing aboard the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS McCampbell (DDG 85) as the ship prepares to come alongside the Lewis and Clark-class dry cargo ship USNS Carl Brashear (T-AKE 7) prior to a replenishment-at-sea.

McCampbell is underway conducting operations in the Indo-Pacific region while assigned to Destroyer Squadron (DESRON) 15, the Navy’s largest forward-deployed DESRON and the U.S. 7th Fleet’s principal surface force. (U.S. Navy photo by Mass Communication Specialist 2nd Class Markus Castaneda)
