Person of interest wanted in Mesquite carjacking

At about 8:55 a.m., Monday, the Mesquite Police Department received a report of an attempted carjacking that had occurred in the 2000 block of Walden Place.

The victim was said to have been approached by several males as she was walking to her vehicle and one of the male pulled out a handgun and demanded the victim’s property.

Police said the victim made several loud noises bringing attention to the situation and the suspects fled the area.

The person caught in a surveillance video (pictured) is believed to have information related to this incident and the Mesquite Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying this person.
