SACHSE VOLLEYBALL MACY TAYLOR

Sachse advanced to the regional tournament in its very first varsity season back in 2004.

That set a high bar for the program, but the Mustangs have never missed the playoffs and have put together several strong runs.

This year is proving to be another successful one to add to the tradition, as Sachse is back in the regional quarterfinal round for the third consecutive season after posting a 25-22, 25-20, 25-14 sweep of Waco Midway on Thursday in Corsicana.

The Mustangs (35-10) will meet 10-6A champion Rockwall (27-14), a 25-22, 25-23, 25-17 winner over Waxahachie, at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Curtis Culwell Center.

Horn (21-15) advanced to the area round for the first time since 2015, but that is where the road came to an end, as the Jaguars fell to DeSoto on Friday.

In the Class 4A playoffs, Sunnyvale held off a late charge from Lindale to claim a 25-12, 25-19, 17-25, 21-25, 15-6 victory on Friday.

The Raiders (19-10) will take on Bullard in the regional quarterfinals on Monday or Tuesday at a time and place to be determined.
