Sunnyvale had already accomplished its goals of making the playoffs and earning the 5-4A Division II championship.
On Friday, they checked another item off their list of goals as they completed a perfect 10-0 regular season with a 42-20 victory over Farmersville that was far closer than the final score indicated.
The Raiders jumped on the Farmers from the start, opening a 28-0 lead in the first quarter.
Tripp McAda threw touchdown passes of 17 and 11 yards to Noah McDill to start the onslaught. Emmanuel Arinze broke free for a 69-yard touchdown run and Sunnyvale then used some trickery, as wide receiver Will Van Vessem hooked up with Ashton Wright on a 65-yard touchdown strike to make it 28-0.
The Raiders got another big play in the second quarter when Alex Luna ripped off a 86-yard touchdown run to push the lead to 35-0 at halftime and they called off the dogs from there.
Farmersville scored three touchdowns against the backups in the second half, but never seriously threatened.
Sunnyvale got its fourth score of 60 yards or more when Landry Laird returned a kickoff 71 yards for a touchdown in the fourth quarter.
