Devin Sterling scored the game's first touchdown and also led the team in tackles as Sunnyvale cruised to a 49-0 win over Roosevelt on Friday.

Sunnyvale has barely been challenged since the start of district play and that did not change on Friday as they cruised to a 49-0 victory over Roosevelt.

The Raiders remain undefeated overall at 8-0 and move within one win of wrapping up the 5-4A Division II title.

Sunnyvale wasted little time getting started, as Devin Sterling scored on a 20-yard touchdown run.

Alex Luna followed with scoring runs of 10 and 4 yards and Emmanuel Arinze added a 6-yard touchdown run to cap a 28-point first quarter.

The Raiders then went to the air, with Tripp McAda hitting Brendon Ferguson for a 8-yard score and hooking up with Noah McDill on a 56-yard scoring strike to open a 42-0 halftime lead.

The second half was academic, with many starters getting an early night off.

Cadyn McKinney added a 2-yard touchdown run in the third quarter to provide the final margin.
