Dr. Amanullah Khan, 2015 president of McKinney Mockingbird Poetry Society, a Chapter of PST, will assume office as president of PST for the term 2018-19 effective Sept. 1.
Dr. Khan, oncologist, poet, author/writer and photographer, resides in Dallas. He replaces Budd Powell Mahan, a three-time president of PST. Mahan, who lives in Dallas, is retiring along with Beth Ayers (director) and Catherine L’Herrison (corresponding secretary).
The other members of the new executive board are Irene Robertson (VP), Patrick Lee Marshall (treasurer), Barbara Blanks (secretary), Ann Howells (corresponding secretary), and Directors Susan Maxwell Campbell, JDarrell Kirkley and Richard Weatherly.
PST has currently 20 member chapters in cities across the state, the newest to join this year is Pegasus (Dallas Chapter) Poetry Association founded by Dr. Khan.
