A fuel spill from an 18-wheeler closed down Sam Rayburn Tollway for about three hours, Monday morning.

All southbound lanes of Sam Rayburn Tollway were temporarily shut down Monday morning after an 18-wheeler spilled fuel on the roadway. According to Lonny Haschel of the Department of Public Safety, the 18-wheeler struck a large object in the road, which led to the fuel spill at 4:30 a.m. on Monday.

Plano Fire responded to the crash near Legacy Drive. There were no injuries or casualties. The northbound Dallas North Tollway ramp to Sam Rayburn was also closed, causing major delays in the area. Roadways were opened around 7:45 p.m.
