Plano City Attorney Paige Mims was elected to a one-year term as Texas City Attorneys Association (TCAA) president during the TCAA fall meeting on Oct. 10 in San Antonio. As the presiding officer of the association, the president presides over business meetings and TCAA’s semi-annual conferences, and executes resolutions and other documents on behalf of the association.
TCAA membership, which consists of more than 500 municipal attorneys, also elected a new board of directors.
The Texas City Attorneys Association was organized in 1928 as an affiliate to the Texas Municipal League to promote, encourage, and advance the professional development of municipal attorneys throughout the State of Texas. TCAA is an affiliate organization of the Texas Municipal League (TML), which represents some 98 percent of the Texas urban population through its over 1,100 member cities. TCAA currently has a membership of over 500 attorneys and continues to meet the needs, concerns, and problems of its members in a variety of ways, providing, among other services, continuing legal education, the ListTCAA Listserv, a monthly newsletter, municipal certification, awards for outstanding municipal lawyers, and much more.
Alan Bojorquez was elected to a one-year term as TCAA first vice president. The first vice president of TCAA assumes the duties of president upon the disability or absence of the president. TCAA First Vice President is a leadership position on the board, and Alan will attend several TCAA board meetings per year, and along with the rest of the board, set policy and procedures for the organization, among other duties.
Ron Stutes was elected to a one-year term as TCAA second vice president. The second vice president of TCAA assumes the duties of the first vice president upon the disability or absence of the first vice president. The position of second vice president is one of leadership on the TCAA board. Ron will attend several TCAA board meetings per year, and along with the rest of the board, set policy and procedures for the organization, among other duties.
