Shannah Hayley has been named the city of Plano’s new director of marketing and community engagement. She will lead the city’s Marketing and Community Engagement Department, overseeing all aspects of the city’s communications and marketing efforts.
With more than 20 years of experience in marketing and strategic communications, Hayley joins Plano from her most current position as director of marketing and communications for The Beck Group. She is highly regarded for her skills in strategic planning and communications. Hayley has held various communications-focused roles worldwide, from teaching in Kenya to consulting in the United Kingdom. She moved to Dallas in 1997, relocating to Plano in 2000.
“I am thrilled to join the city of Plano,” Hayley said. “This is an exciting time in Plano’s history, and I look forward sharing the many ways that Plano is a preferred place to work, play and live. I can think of no better role than to help our citizens connect in meaningful ways with our great city.”
Hayley holds a masters of communications degree from Missouri State University, and is recognized by the Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS) as a Certified Professional Services Marketer. She was admitted to the SMPS Dallas Marketing Hall of Fame in 2012 and the SMPS National College of Fellows in 2013. Hayley is a graduate of Leadership Plano Class 32.
“Shannah brings to the city of Plano a wealth of professional experience in the private sector that will take our Marketing and Community Engagement Department to a new level,” said City Manager Bruce Glasscock. “She will play a key role in finding new and creative ways to engage our citizens and share Plano’s amazing story.”
Hayley’s start date with the city is June 22.
