The tragic events of Sept. 11, 2001 have scarred the memory of our country and since have shaped the course of history. However, it was also a day that touched lives and hearts across both political and geographic boundaries, allowing people to come together in a shared bond.
There may be no two groups of people where this bond is the strongest than between police and fire rescue departments, who whether in New York or anywhere else are the first to put themselves in harm’s way for their neighbors. At 8:30 a.m. today, the Plano Fire-Rescue and Police Departments are hosting their annual ceremony to commemorate 9/11 and honor those who lost their lives that day. The event will be held at the Fire Administration building, 1901 K Ave.
