PLANO VB JULIA ADAMS

Plano Senior senior Julia Adams, pictured in previous action, posted a team-high 22 kills in Tuesday's 3-1 victory over Wylie.

LUCAS – In recent years, the Plano Senior volleyball team’s reward for making the playoffs has been a state-ranked bi-district opponent.

That plight didn’t change in Tuesday’s first round of the postseason, but for the first time since 2015, the Lady Wildcats cleared that lofty hurdle. They did so by outlasting District 10-6A co-champion Wylie, 3-1 (25-19, 21-25, 28-26, 25-20) to advance to the area round of the postseason on Friday against Rockwall at a time and place to be determined.
