Rowlett Police Department arrested a Florida man on the run last Wednesday, wanted for nearly a dozen warrants.
According to Rowlett police, on the morning of April 3, the department’s crime analyst received a tip from a concerned citizen that a wanted fugitive from Florida had turned up in Rowlett.
The suspect, Michael Glen Chope, 55, of Orange Park, Florida, was on the run from several charges including sexual battery of a child and multiple charges of possession of child pornography.
Rowlett detectives located Chope in the 8100 block of Regatta Drive and arrested him on 11 felony warrants. He was being held on warrants out of Clay County, Florida, for one count of possession of a photograph of the sexual performance of a child and 10 counts of sexual battery of a child.
He has been transferred to Dallas County Jail where he will be held pending extradition to Florida.
