Residents are encouraged to challenge their innovative-thinking skills during Rowlett’s annual Cardboard Boat Regatta right after Kid Fish at 1:30 p.m. April 23.
Participants will create their own boat prior to the event using cardboard and other various supplies. After creating their boat, teams will race across Community Park pond, 8700 St. Andrews Lane. Residents are challenged to be as creative and unconventional as possible. All teams are required to supply their own life vests for all participants during the race. Pre-registration is required for this event. Prizes will be awarded to the winners. The two age groups are ages 8-13 and 14 and over. Entries are $20 per boat.
