Sachse decided to call it an early night on Tuesday, as they needed only three innings to dispatch of Lakeview in a 26-2 run-rule victory.
The Mustangs scored 10 runs in the first inning and 11 more in the second to quickly bring the run rule into effect.
Kayla Olthouse picked up the win on the mound, Mattie Boyd went 3-for-3 with four runs and four RBIs, Nya Brown was 3-for-3 with three runs and three runs batted in and Sky Rheaume belted a grand slam.
Sachse wasted little time getting started, as Boyd and Caitlin Clem each had two-run triples and Brown, Katlin Lusk, Olthouse and Tarynn Luttrull added RBI singles as they took a 10-0 lead.
It was more of the same in the second. Brown got things started with a two-run home run. Rheaume tripled and scored on a base hit by Lusk. Skylar Gardez and Brown added RBI singles and Rheaume cleared the bases with a grand slam as the lead swelled to 21-0.
For good measure, the Mustangs pushed across five more runs in the top of the third, getting RBI base hits from Boyd, Luttrull and Laila Vaughan.
Sachse improves to 4-1 and is now in sole possession of second place in 10-6A after Garland (3-2) rallied past Rowlett (3-2) for a 7-4 win.
The Eagles had actually gotten off to a good start, taking a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning.
Ashton Norberg walked, Maya Fix singled and both scored on a base hit by Emily Everitt. Katelyn Dotts then plated a run with a ground out to make it 3-0.
The Owls missed out on scoring chances in their first two at-bats, but they began to take advantage as the game progressed.
Launa Castaneda singled home a run and then scored on a wild pitch to close to within 3-2 in the third and Rebecca Garir’s RBI single helped them take a 4-3 lead in the fourth.
Rowlett tied it in the bottom of the fifth when Norberg doubled and scored on a single by Fix, but that was all Alexis Leflore would allow.
Garland regained the advantage in the top of the sixth when Angelica Gonzalez drove in a run, and they added some insurance in the seventh, as Leflore singled home one run and Garir doubled home another.
Wylie remained alone in first place, improving to 5-0 with a 18-0 rout of Naaman Forest. Annie Gunther struck out five and allowed just one hit. Isabella Dayton homered twice and drove in four, Skyler Shaw doubled, homered and had four RBIs and Devin Chaky went 2-for-3 with three runs and three runs batted in.
Laryn Landry recorded the only base hit for the Rangers.
On Friday, Sachse will host South Garland while Rowlett looks to bounce back on the road at Lakeview.
