Sachse suffered no lingering effects from its hard-fought loss against Wylie, as they cruised to a 10-0 win over Naaman Forest on Tuesday.
Mattie Boyd struck out 14 and surrendered only four hits in six innings, while also going 3-for-3 with three runs batted in at the plate, and Katlin Lusk was 3-for-4 with two runs and four RBIs.
That pair worked together in the first inning as Lusk singled and scored on a double by Boyd and Lusk returned to the plate and delivered a two-run single in the third to take a 3-0 lead.
The Mustangs opened some distance with a five-run fourth inning. Caitlin Clem, Alyssa Warren and Bailey Balderson all walked to load the bases. Nya Brown plated two runs with a single, Lusk had a two-run double and Boyd added a sacrifice fly to make it 8-0.
Brown tacked on a sacrifice fly in the fifth inning and they put the run rule into effect in the sixth, as Kayla Olthouse singled and scored on a double by Boyd.
Rowlett got back on the winning track with a 18-3 rout of North Garland. The Eagles scored eight runs in both the first and third innings to put it away, with Ashleigh McLeroy pitching four frames to earn the win.
After spotting the Raiders a 2-0 lead, Rowlett went to work in the bottom of the first.
Ashton Norberg was hit by a pitch, Parker Jones walked and both scored on a double by Maya Brooks. Emily Everitt and Katelyn Dotts followed with RBI singles, Lauren Burks and Norberg forced in runs with walks and Jones capped the inning with a two-run single.
In the bottom of the third, two walks and two hit batsmen set the table to start the inning. Brooks, Everitt and Dotts had run-scoring singles and McLeroy added a RBI double to push the advantage to 16-3 and they would cruise from there.
Wylie remained undefeated and alone in first place with a 10-0 run-rule win over Garland. Rylen Wiggins had another big day at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a double, home run, two runs and six RBIs. Brittanie Henry also went 3-for- 4 with three runs and two driven in, while Averie Gunther had three hits and a run batted in.
Lakeview notched its second district win with a 20-5 victory over South Garland.
On Friday, Sachse (7-2) hosts Garland (6-3) with a chance to solidify its hold on second place, while Rowlett looks to take care of business on the road at South Garland.
