Vani Venkatachalam, M.D., affectionately known as Dr. Vani, has joined the pediatric care team of MD Pediatric Associates full-time, bringing the practice’s total number of board-certified physicians to six.
Venkatachalam is an experienced pediatrician, who received her medical license in 2013. She is board certified and has special interests in treating universal pediatric conditions such as asthma, infections, and rare blood disorders. She is now seeing patients at MD Pediatrics’ Coppell office four days a week and will be in Flower Mound one day a week.
“I’m thrilled to feel so welcomed here at MD Pediatrics,” said Venkatachalam, who originally joined the practice in August 2015 on a part-time basis. “This is an amazing group of skilled pediatricians and nurse practitioners who, like me, have children’s health as their No. 1 priority. This is a place where I can combine my skills and knowledge with the latest technologies to ensure top-quality care for my young patients. I couldn’t have found a better medical team to work with, and I’m so proud to associate myself with this practice.”
Venkatachalam attended medical school at Andhra Medical College, NTR Medical University in India and completed her residency at the Children’s Hospital of Richmond, Virginia Commonwealth University (Medical College of Virginia). After a year in fellowship training at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Children’s Medical Center in Dallas in pediatric hematology and oncology, Venkatachalam returned to general pediatrics.
“Dr. Vani’s medical experience, multi-cultural perspective and caring manner are a perfect complement to our pediatric care team,” said Dr. Darla Kincaid. “We know that the families who entrust their children to our care will enjoy getting to know her and will appreciate the depth of her knowledge and skill as a medical professional.”
Venkatachalam enjoys reading, music, singing and playing the piano. She speaks four Indian languages: Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Kanada and volunteers at Chinmaya Mission teaching elementary school children every Sunday. She and her husband Karthik, have a daughter, Kavya, and live in Coppell.
