Community members gathered on June 1 for a car show celebrating 21-year-old Zach Lovell overcoming brain cancer.

The Flower Mound Firefighters Foundation invited drivers from all over the metroplex to show off classic cars, muscle cars, sports cars and first responder vehicles and, “make some noise,” for Lovell, foundation president Bret Taylor said.

Taylor said Alexis Mizer, a friend of Lovell’s helped organize the event with the help of firefighters at Station No. 3, where Lovell often rode his bike to visit with members of the fire department.

“The smile on his face was all worth it,” Taylor said.

Despite inclement weather, Taylor said the turnout was larger than what the foundation originally anticipated.
