The heavy rain has caused a few closures at local parks.
The town of Flower Mound has closed down most of the RV sites at Twin Coves Park as well as the boat ramp and day use area, said Chuck Jennings, parks and recreation director.
He said further closures could be forthcoming as the Grapevine Lake continues to rise. The town also rescheduled its family camp out.
Jennings said the dog park and various athletic complexes have closed due to the wet conditions.
“The youth sport leagues and adult leagues are struggling,” he said.
The weather has also caused the closing of several Highland Village parks.
Edgewater Drive is closed due to rising lake levels, which has caused the city to close all access to Sunset Point Park and the Lewisville Lake vicinity.
Highland Village police will be monitoring the area for safety, according to city officials. The Pilot Knoll Park boat ramp, day use area and several campsites are closed. The Copperas Branch Park boat ramp is also closed.
